Catholic Charities: Catholic Charities seeks to empower the voiceless and vulnerable in our society. Catholic Charities has over 30 programs designed to decrease hunger, poverty, unemployment, and domestic violence.
Covenant House: Covenant House’s main goal is to break the cycle of adult homelessness by supporting at-risk youth. Founded in 1972, Covenant House is determined to help homeless kids escape the streets.
Backyard Gardener's Network: Backyard Gardener’s Network’s mission is to sustain and strengthen the historically self-sufficient and deeply rooted community of the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans. This organization uses food growing techniques as a method to build communities and revitalize neighborhoods.
Hagar's House: Hagar’s House provides a safe place for women and children in New Orleans. This organization establishes a safe space for transitioning into affordable housing.
The Green Project: The Green Project is dedicated to instilling a culture of reuse through education and outreach efforts. Through initiatives aimed at communities and school districts, the Green Project shares our vision of a more environmentally conscious New Orleans.
Easter Seals: We received an astonishing amount of crutches in 2014 and ended up donating 19 pairs to Easter Seals, a charity that provides a variety of services to help people with disabilities succeed.
Animal Rescue New Orleans: We were happy to donate linens, laundry detergent and storage containers to the only no kill shelter in New Orleans. Specifically, this organization aids animals in need of medical care or those who have experienced abuse or neglect.
UNITY: Through its bold initiative to end homelessness, UNITY provides housing and services to those most in need. UNITY also helps homeless individuals find affordable housing, thus acting as a support system to get people back on their feet. Trash to Treasure donated a truck full of bedding to this great organization.
Habitat for Humanity: Not only did we donate some boxes of miscellaneous household goods to Habitat but our Executive Board spent a day painting and installing flooring in a house for the organization. That house, along with many others built by Habitat for Humanity will go to those in need.
CIS New Orleans: All of our left over school supplies and stuffed animals went to CIS New Orleans a program that acts as a network for schools, communities, and families to give students the tools they need to succeed.
Goodwill: One of the better known names on this list, we donated over 30 bags of clothing to Goodwill, helps millions of job seekers develop the skills they need to succeed in their prospective careers.
